underneath

i'm looking for a little more

beneath the surface of my flesh

into the depths of my mind and spirit

my jewelry is following the lead

lingering quietly beneath

i think so often our potential is covered

by the judgment of others, past experiences,

and unfortunately our own critiques

but it still exists!

our potential will always exist

it takes courage and love to push through

and take a deeper look into what we can be

how we can live better,

love better

i believe love and acceptance can be contagious.

starting within

breaking the opacity and shining outward

our soul can then shine.

we can recognize beauty because we've pushed away our own fog.

quietly linger

this is positively the most beautiful natural thing i've seen

each year for Mother's day i take my mom to "the Iris Lady's"

she has a field full of irises... waving flamboyantly in the sun

and each year, my mom invites a new charmer into her own garden flock

we love this tradition

the blooms grow and divide

my mother's garden reminds of all the times we've celebrated together

someday they are to be heirlooms to the women in our family

although the magnitude of colors is overwhelmingly beautiful

a floor rainbowed with flora

subtlety and delicacy won me over with this bloom

sometimes the quiet ones are most deserving of a lingering eyes, hearts, and minds

quiet snow day

Missouri was tucked in last night

i love waking up

dashing to the television

legs tucked under themselves as I wait for the alphabet to pass

ah, the fun part of being a student

p.s. earrings are now in shop

letting things come naturally

i've been playing with these earrings (or the idea of them) for a while now.

making little trinkets for me

with no purpose but to observe and collect

but these popped up 3 weeks ago.

they've finally translated into wearables!

in the meantime i'd been debating on selfishly keeping them

and have decided, that i wish for them to find a new happy dwelling.

as such, these little fellows will be listed later this evening.

on a different note: 4 weeks of classes remain this semester

i'm ready for a little rejuvenation in the studio!

whew! a great start to Wednesday morning!

glad i woke up early this morning.

had a nice cup of coffee with my mom

we sat outside, still cool from the storms last night

there were appropriate amounts of silence

and conversation

we watched the hummingbirds tend their flowers and sugar water

as we sipped from our mugs

i came inside to find my new enamel earrings were featured on the front page of etsy!

as if that wasn't good enough...

the treasury i made was featured later on!

good start to hump-day!

now it's time to package a few goodies

and then off to see my man :)
