This week instead of working in the studio,
I've been observing the children in their block/construction area.
The children have taught me so much about themselves
and their ideas in such a short amount of time.
I'm constantly learning as well.
The children approached block area without any blueprints, and created something imaginative and complex! Often the children use ramps to create pathways for marbles to roll down. These paths took a dramatic turn, ramping up and down and managing to travel through right angles and tunnels. They began to explore how blocks with curves could be used as guiding sides on marble paths as well. The marble city involved an incredibly large space, which were eventually marked off for a later presentation. Job well done on collaboration and construction!!
